Yesterday I took an 11 hour plane trip to Istanbul, Turkey where I met with a very excited Michael. We took another plane to Izmir and ate a wonderful meal. The weather last night was perfection but this morning I woke up just slightly overheated... who am I kidding, my room was an oven!Jet lag has already set in and a nice headache to go along with it.
I've spoken to the folks and used the webcam to show them the street I'm staying on. They were particularly interested how blue the sky was (???)
I'm excited to get out and explore. It may be the same area that I was in two January's ago, but it is definitely a different Izmir. Much more life in the summer!
